Top 5 Travel and Local Apps in New Zealand in Q4 2023

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top Travel and Local apps in New Zealand showed varying trends in weekly downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these apps, as per Sensor Tower data.

Air NZ experienced a decrease in weekly downloads from around 5.7K at the end of September to approximately 4.9K by the final week of December. The app's weekly active users also saw a slight decline, starting at 15.4K and ending at roughly 14.1K.

Airbnb had a relatively stable performance with a notable spike in downloads, reaching around 5.1K in the last week of December. Weekly active users increased significantly from approximately 32.9K at the beginning of the quarter to about 41.9K by the end.

NZTD saw a downward trend in weekly downloads, starting from about 5.2K in late September and dropping to around 2.4K by the end of December.

Booking.com: Hotels & Travel showed a fluctuating but overall positive trend in downloads, peaking at approximately 4.2K in the final week of December. Weekly active users saw an upward trend, increasing from around 182K to about 202K over the quarter.

Beam - Escooter sharing had a significant increase in weekly downloads, ending the quarter with approximately 6K downloads. The app's weekly active users also rose, starting at around 8.4K and reaching about 11.8K by the end of December.
